On May 14th, after the longest public hearing in Calgary's history, nine council members made a couragous choice to vote for a Calgary with more housing for everyone by approving the RC-G rezoning of Calgary's neighbourhoods. Councillors Walcott, Penner, Mian, Pootmans, Dhaliwal, Wyness, Spencer, Carra and Mayor Gondek need to hear our thanks for putting the need for more housing options in Calgary front and centre!
After this choice, council is definitely hearing from those oppposed to neighbourhood change, so we want to take time to personally thank each council member for their vote, to let them know we support them and appreciate their public service to listen to all the submission that were made, integrate them, consider ammendments that wouldn't cripple the bylaws intent, and most of all to act with conviction in what is best for Calgary's citizens, even at poltiical cost to themselves.
